Water Feature Product Suppliers

A special note: Aquascape, or Aquascape Designs is the largest water garden supplier, probably in the world. It is a business built upon the principle of making money - as any business should be. However, they strongly encourage - drive - designers and contractors to build as many water gardens as they possibly can - several a day, if possible. They do not promote beauty and they do not, on the whole, seem to know how to create beautiful water features.

Curiously, whenever any other water garden organization including non-profit water garden societies plans a seminar or symposium anywhere in the country, Aquascape seems to spring up with their own water water garden show a day or so before in the same area. They are looked down upon by many fine organizations and individuals within the water garden world because of their hard core drive to make money through water features with no apparent regard for beautiful landscapes and their shameless disregard for other, laudable water garden entities.

Their products probably do work. Their ethics don't and they don't have a sense of aesthetics. Most, though not all the people I've met who use aquascape design systems are highly negative/agressive and arrogant, often calling themselves something like 'The Pond People" or some other similarly over stated claim. Consequently, the many contractors who subscribe to the Aquascape approach are busy giving water gardens a bad name with the unsightly creations with which they mar the landscape. I discourage anyone from using any Aquascape product or service or from following their techniques or approach. If you are having a water feature installed, ask what products or services the contractor uses. If you are becoming a water garden contractor, there are much better sources than aquascape designs.

A company I do advocate, one with whom I have no affiliation and from whom I receive no commissions or anything else for promoting is  Resource Conservation Technology. They supply the highest quality products, (in my opinion, better than those of Aquascape). They give solid, excellent advice, help and technical support at no charge. They will help you determine what products you need for your project, they work out the details of sizes, quantities and such and fax you diagrams to assist in assembling your systems. I have used RCT for years and will continue to do so because of their outstanding quality and service.
